On June 28, 2012 the Supreme Court released its much anticipated decision on key provisions within the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Its effect will no doubt have a significant impact on the industry, the November elections, and future Congressional action.
Leavitt Partners has analyzed how the 2012 election results may impact the future of American health care. The results of that analysis are outlined on Health Reform Bracketology—a fun, instructive exercise that illustrates potential future scenarios in American health care. Based on a series of assumptions, each scenario paints a picture of what the future could be and then presents the implications in simple and easy-to-understand terms.
The scenarios are developed by professional staff at Leavitt Partners, in consultation with FuturePanel, a diverse, 14-member group of health care thought leaders. Scenarios depict alternative futures—not desired futures—and help senior executives navigate the significant uncertainty that currently exists in American health care.
